Belmont Assembly of God is part of the national and international fellowship of churches
known as the Assemblies of God. We are an evangelical, bible-believing church that
embraces the “full gospel”, which includes not only a firm belief in salvation through
a personal relationship with God (through repentance from sin and receiving of Jesus
Christ as personal Savior), but also in the “promise of the Father” - the baptism
in the Holy Spirit.
Belmont Assembly of God has been in continuous existence in the City of Chicago since
1907. When we began, like many other church works of that era, our founders were
of a particular immigrant base, whereby effort was being made to reach that specific
ethnic group - in our case being the Italians of Chicago. As time moved forward
and succeeding generations integrated with the ethnic diversity of our city and metropolitan
area, it became both providential and necessary to realize the great need of reaching
out to all people groups. Under God’s direction and timing, we became a church intent
on reaching the nations. As a result of God’s grace, we are now embracing somewhere
over 60 different nationalities and participate with missionaries spread out over
our globe.
100 Years of Ministry: 1907 - 2007 What a Great God we serve!
We celebrated our 100 year anniversary as a church in November of 2007.
